Church Administration Division
Challenges people with the privilege of responsible christian
stewardship of money, time and talent. Establishes the annual church
budget. Provides for the administration of the church's program. Provides
for the management of the church's property. Following are committees
of this division.
Operations and Planning
Responsible for the overall administers of church operations
and long-range planning.
Personnel
Responsible for overall administration of church employees.
Buildings and Grounds
Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and improvement of all church buildings,
grounds, facilities and furnishings.
Stewardship
Responsible for all phases of budget planning, the annual
pledge drive and for reporting and evaluating the funds received
and disbursed. It also interprets to the congregation the needs of
the mission and ministry of the church.
The
following committees operate independently but report to Session
through the Church Administration Division.
Heritage
Responsible for maintaining the tradition and history of our church. Sees
that church records and memorabilia are preserved and shared so as to
enhance the appreciation of our heritage as a congregation.
Information Policy
Responsible for improving communication and coordination
among the entities of our church and outreach to the community.
Gifts and Bequests Advisory Council
Provide information and services to potential donors of gifts to the church
to ensure gifts and bequests are used wisely at the wishes of the donor.
Christian Education Division
Challenges our church's young people and adults through multiple programs
of Sunday and midweek activities. These include church school curriculum,
Bible study, faith expressions, family faith events, fellowship groups
and vacation Bible school.
Fellowship & Nurture
Responsible for receiving and assimilating new members
into the church fellowship; providing for the growth of members
through personal and pastoral care and sharing in fellowship and
mutual support; and keeping accurate records of the church's membership.
Following are committees and boards of this division.
Art
Arranges for monthly art displays and sponsors open house
artist receptions for members of the community.
Board of Deacons
Responsible for welcoming worshippers and overseeing the needs of the building
in preparation for worship. Deacons reach out to people of the church
and community in need and work in programs of assistance.

addition, the following services and programs are under the umbrella
of the Fellowship and Nurture Division:

Prayer Breakfast.
Mission Division
Responsible for promoting the four General Assembly Special
Offerings each year; for determining the direction of CPC's mission
activities and expenditures within the framework of CPC, the Presbytery
and the Presbyterian Church USA; and for providing oversight and active
support to establish mission projects within CPC. Following are committees
of this division.
Alternative Gift Market
The Market is held in November of each year to provide the opportunity
to purchase handmade gifts so that the money goes back to the artisans
making the products. In addition, certificates may be purchased to meet
a variety of needs so that the money goes back to those in need.
Food
Closet
Hunger Relief Action
Considers actions to be taken by church members regarding
issues of hunger, particularly as the affect children, locally, in
the USA and in the world. Recommendation of Bread for the World and
California Council of Churches are used to help make those determinations.
Heifer International
Worship Division
Is responsible for overseeing both regular Sunday worship services,
special services, and scheduling communion, baptisms, Advent, Lent
and Holy Week services. Ministries that fall under the Worship Division
include: the Drama Team, Liturgical Arts, Tech Team and all music
programs such as the adult Sanctuary Choir, children's Angel Choir,
English Handbells Choir, Orchestra, Celebration Singers and the Contemporary
Music Team.
Other Committees
Nominating
Takes suggestions from many sources and recommends nominees
for new Session classes and vacancies. The committee also recommends
persons for chairs of Session divisions and persons to the Gifts
and Bequests Advisory Council.
Liturgical Art
Considers and recommends artistic elements used
in the worship services. Examples include vestments, hangings,
decorations, etc., to be used in the sanctuary for worship
