Session
The governing body of our church is known as the Session and is made up of 21 members who are elected and ordained by the congregation as elders to serve for a period of 3 years on staggered terms. This means 7 members are presented by the Nominating Committee each year. More about the form of government can be found through the link to the PCUSA. Session members at CPC are designated to the following areas of service: Church Administration, Christian Education, Fellowship and Nurture, Mission, Nominating Committee and Worship.
Session members are elected by the Session to serve as Commissioners to the Presbytery of Sacramento. Through the years CPC members have faithfully served in a variety of positions at the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly level.
