2006 Christmas
Drama - The
Silent Bells
The CPC Drama
Group put on the play taken from a book by William MacKellar
-- a story about a girl who wanted to give the perfect
gift to the baby Jesus so that the church bells would
once again ring. She encounters an old woman, a blind
man, a beggar and a prince. With each she exchanges cherished
gifts, and finally gives the prince's crown to the baby
Jesus. The prince encourages her to also give the "insignificant" carving
of a lamb. The bells once again rang.
Apologies for the poor quality of the photos -- due to poor lighting
conditions.

Alternative Gift Market
The Alternative Gift
Market, the “alternative” to the commercialism of
Christmas giving, was a success from many aspects. In spite of
the cramped quarters due to the loss of McMillen Hall this year,
most market segments exceeded 2005 proceeds. From many comments
it seems hosting the event in the Gathering Place and the Parlor
had many positive experiences. Families and individuals in our
community and around the world will know of the generosity of
AGM shoppers.
Locally, agencies present added $2,111 for their
ministries. Heifer International realized $1780 in animal gifts and $674.80 through
merchandise gifts.
Alternative Gifts International will be supported
with $2538 for global projects.
Income of $3802 from Baksheesh Third World crafts
will be enjoyed by their artisans around the world.
More than 200 shoppers made more than 121 purchases.
Choir Retreat
- Oct. 13-15
Some 30 members of our Sanctuary Choir were able
to meet together at Zephyr Point for some time of intensive rehearsal,
thoughtful reflection and some fun. Here are some photos of the
fun time.
Annual Church
Picnic September 24
The weather cooperated for a grand day at the park,
with music, balloons, games, food and ice cream!
Good Bye and
God Speed Cliff
Cliff Zufall was honored on Sunday Sept. 10 for his
40 years of service to PCC and the
Sacramento area and given a send-off as he left for Minnesota to be near his

Sundae Sunday September
10
There were many tables of information concerning
the life of Carmichael Presbyterian Church and its many committees
and groups for people to view, ask questions and converse. Especially
enticing were the toppings available at each table to put on
the bowls of ice cream, which were rapidly picked up in the Gathering
Place. Thanks to Phyllis Brewer and her handy camera, here are
a few photos of the event.
